Instagram Travel Inspo

Jack Morris is a Bali-based blogger who travels to the most exotic places. His brand is recognizable by his custom preset (which he sells now) that is warn with a lot of depth. His feed has very crisp whites – most of the time fulfilled by the outfits of him and his wife.  He posts a lot of content with his travel partner – his wife, Lauren Bullen. Together they explore places like Abu Dhabi. Dubai, Turkey, and so much more.  He is very different in that he isn’t your typical traveler who rarely branches out past European countries. He also immerses himself in the culture as he can be seen in his video from the oldest living city in the world – Varanasi. He and his wife are often shown doing crazy things like shisha next to the Great Mosque. They also have partnerships with Visit Abu Dhabi, Douche Bags, and other travel brands.

Haley an Austin, Texas native who is a growing travel blogger on Instagram. When looking through her feed, you can notice several consistent elements that make her page unique. Her photos are almost always outdoors. It ranges from both landscape photos to photos of her. One thing that I noticed about the photos of her or another model is that they are very rarely of the person face-on. They are usually turned, looking at the view. This style was deliberate as it gives her content a signature feel. Her content extends from Instagram to her blog – readysetjet.net. Her photos are very textured and bright. Her feed does not appear to have a strong preset, but it works well together. It goes through cycles of color themes (example: bright reds/blues, tans, green/oceans). One thing that makes her account unique is that while she is documenting her travels internationally, she is also documenting what she loves about her hometown, Austin. I also discovered her personal account (haley_explores) that is a behind-the-scenes look at her travels.

Nadine originally started on YouTube and has been documenting her travels via vlogging for 9 years now. When you look at her feed, you can tell she is consistent with a preset. Her feed is very warm and contains a lot of photos of her. She oftentimes has hats on, which I think is part of her personal brand. Her content ranges from photos of landscapes to architecture, but it consistently has her as the subject. She seems to be very invested in helping others start their career in travel vlogging. She also is a partner with Best Western hotels. She seems very personal and down to earth with her captions talking about her struggles and daily routines. She also supports charities and encourages her followers to do the same.

Jo combines her travel adventures with her exceptional sense of style on her travel and fashion blog Instagram account. She has a very light and airy feel to her aesthetic. She uses presets that give her feed a consistent color theme of pinkish/blue with an emphasis on muted greens and brighter warm colors. Because she combines fashion with travel, she emphasizes and explains her outfits in her photos with elaborate landscapes in the background. Her feed has a dreamy feel to it. She always looks so happy and free in her photos, oftentimes with her arms spread out and a big smile on her face. Her fiancé has recently become a part of her brand, as well. It added a sense of intimacy to her content and allowed her followers to feel like they are a part of her life.

Murad Osmann is a traveler who created the #followmeto project in which he shows him holding his wife’s hand taken from his point of view with a pretty scene in the background in which she is leading him to. This is his brand aesthetic. Every picture on his profile is very textured with vibrant colors and scenery. His follow me photos show his wife wearing clothing that is representative of the culture in which they are visiting. Something very compelling about this is that the scenes in the background always have a passageway or a doorway or something of that shape that leads the viewer's eye to the scene. All of his shots appear to be taken with a wide-angle lens. His brand is very imaginative as all of his content looks like it is out of a fairy tale. He combines reality with fantasy as he actively participates in trends. He also is a film producer and is recognized as an influencer of the year and on Forbes’ Top 3 Travel Influencers list.
